Our Story

After working in the electrical construction industry for 12  years, John A. Martin III developed a passion for the business and aspired to have a small, family-operated company.  In February of 1998, John and his wife, Mary Anne, started Premier Electric Co., Inc. It is now currently owned and operated under the leadership of their daughter, Margaret. 
The first corporate office and warehouse was located on the Northwest side of Chicago, Illinois. John’s extensive knowledge of electrical construction and experience in the field coupled with Mary Anne's professional background proved to be a successful combination. As a family-owned and operated company, Premier Electric quickly grew and earned a reputation for quality and reliable work. Today, we are headquartered Franklin Park, IL. 

In 2022, Premier Electric was acquired by Margaret Martin. With her family’s guidance, she has learned the key aspects of running the business. She has obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Christian University and a Masters of Arts from University College Dublin. In between her semesters, she worked as an intern with other companies in the industry, learning how to manage accounts and projects, prepare proper financial documentation, obtain and maintain certifications, estimate and bid projects, and create relevant projections and reports. Today she manages all operations, serves as the company's supervising electrician, and continues developing the company’s long-term goals.
